Baked Apples With Cinnamon And Walnuts

Imagine the aroma of warm cinnamon and juicy apples wafting through your home on a cozy fall evening.
That's exactly what you'll get with this delicious recipe for baked apples with cinnamon and walnuts. But this recipe is not only tasty, it's also healthy and blood pressure-friendly.
Apples are loaded with fiber and antioxidants, while cinnamon and walnuts are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
Plus, this dish is easy to make and perfect for impressing guests or simply satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large apples
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Wash and core the apples, leaving about 1/2 inch at the bottom intact.
  • Mix together the chopped walnuts, ground cinnamon, honey, and unsalted butter in a small bowl.
  • Stuff each apple with the walnut mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  • Pour the water into the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Bake the apples for 25-30 minutes or until they are soft and the filling is lightly browned.
  • Let the apples cool for a few minutes before serving.

NOTE

  • If you’re watching your sugar intake, feel free to reduce the amount of honey in this recipe or leave it out altogether.
  • This recipe is easily customizable. Try using different types of nuts or adding raisins or dried cranberries for some extra sweetness.
